OK this is gong to be incredibly vague but maybe someone around my age can remember it.

Basically it was a show that was on around kids tv time years back, either on itv or bbc1, around about 4:30-5:00pm. Was a live action show and seemed to revolve around a girl, when she went to sleep nearby on a shed or house some weird metallic antenna\windmill thing would start to activate like it was communicating with her in her dreams. I can't really remember much more but i do remember as the show went on she ended up taking the thing off the shed and as far as i remember it started directing her to something.

The antenna\windmill thing basically looked like a metal pinwheel windmill, dark grey in colour

^^ Obviously not it but that type of shape.

Vague description i know but tis something that just popped into my head as of late and ive been trying to figure out the details without much luck. Probably would have been on very late 80's early 90's.

I remember this, some kids find and activate an alien space probe. Its called Children of the Dogstar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_the_Dog_Star. All the episodes are on youtube. I remember finding it a bit disturbing as a kid i'll have to watch it again- I can only remember small parts of it.

Yeah thats it, suprised anyone got this given the description, though i suppose the windmill thing musta jogged some memories. :p

Suprising that it was a kids show, was pretty freaky in parts from what i can remember.

Well the windmill thing is definately the single most memorable part of the show. Just finished watching all the episodes on youtube, as I expected its seems fairly tame now although there are enough quite eerie parts for me to understand why it freaked me as I really young when I watched it (a few shows did that like the tripods). Very interesting watching the show again as its quite slow paced compared to most TV shows nowadays, the slow build seems to add to the atmosphere. I cant imagine any similar show made recently would have the same kind of ending either,

PS Glad you like my forum name guys. Talking of childhood I remember wondering why I had some guys name written on my toilet :)
