I despair of the Human Race...

No, they are totally different tangents. I am worried about the abuse and spread of police powers, but I fail to see how even in my own "paranoid" mind, it would have prevented the cops from dealing with this.

This is why you shouldnt form opinions from 1 source.

A Police Inspector was on the BBC news programme that morning detailing what they had done... right upto and including having plain clothes officers within the house at times to try and catch them.... Unfortunaetly they cant be there all the time....

Seeing as the Police are always the fall guy's for this kind of thing and people are quikcer to complain than praise, it should be even more prevalent that the deceased's family have actually PRAISED them.

Why DID it take so long to move this guy ?? If they were concerned enough to have LOTS of CCTV at his home then the council etc are fully aware of the extent of the issue IMHO...

I remember my granddad telling me about his childhood, they used to steal gates and apples, the police would get them, give them a slap and drag them home by the ear. Shame they can't do similar now.

As had been said before, the parents of these kids couldnt give a rat's harris. If a cop takes the kids home then the cops get abuse from the parents as they aren't "out catching real criminals and just persecuting the easy targets"

More will come out of this I am sure....

i don't understand how people can be this cruel.

when did society get this bad?

Surely this is mostly down to parenting? Or lack of it? ie: Teaching your youngsters compassion, kindness and good behaviour?

The other day I was walking down a little side road where cars were parked right upto the edge of the narrow path. A wheelie bin was out in the path leaving one a 1-2ft gap in the path. I, and my son, could obviously walk buy (the bin wasn't in our way), but I noticed an old lady 15-20ft ahead coming in the other direction with one of those little walking supports/trolleys infront of her.

I moved the wheelie bin so she'd have no trouble when she came to it. As we continued she'd realised what I done and we swapped "thank yous" and "you're welcomes"... My 7yr old son realised what I'd done, and why I'd done it... I have little doubt he will hopefully learn such common good manners, but only through example and talking about it.

I suspect the individuals involved in this mans torment needed more guidance.

Firstly, how anyone can believe involuntary electrically induced seizers to be a "good thing" is utterly beyond me. You are essentially causing random brain damage. This is not science, this belongs with the witchdoctors and shamans of old.

Secondly the research that showed it to be effective did not show it to be effective beyond a few months and placebo controlled research has since discredited the effect entirely, hence the "reliable" in my quote. The World Health Organisation themselves claim it should only be used on a voluntary basis and it is banned in many countries. I have seen first hand the effect this treatment has, it is nothing short of barbarism.

But if used on the retarded bullies like these does it really matter if they end up dribbling mutes.......NO!

Sadly the liberals will scream like hysterical pigs and they will get off light. An ASBO, maybe a year or two in a borstal and that will be it.

What a shame people in general are idiots otherwise we would toughen up the laws to extreme punishment. Sadly, power will get to the tiny heads of ***** and it will be open to abuse.

But you shouldn't need laws to force behaviour. Civility and common courtesy needs to come from a good upbringing... If people are lacking it, laws won't help...
