I guess there wasn't much interest in this series hence no thread but I think one should be started after a great knock by Morgan today. What a player he is. If only he was back playing for Ireland again. Very proud of our Irishman!

Still I'm surprised that a team like Bangladesh can even score 240 runs against England. Must have been some not great bowling in among that.

Watched the end of it and if it wasnt for Morgan England would have lost lol...lost far too many wickets cheaply early on...thankfully the Bengali bowling attack isnt that potent lol

A few positives to take from this series, the most obvious being Kieswetters recent knock. Another bloody Saffer though. I'm perfectly happy with overseas players turning out for England, but given the ECB's recent strop about the money from Sky being so important to the development of grass roots English talent, one has wonder. Particularly since they didn't give Adil Rashid a chance to show what he can do, on a sub-continent wicket, which would have suited him perfectly.

A whitewash for the SA B team;):p...amazing how many SA born players are currently in the England squad :/ lol

Vaughn makes a very good point though in this article...i have no issue with KP for instance as he came over very young and never played for SA but players like Trott and Kieswetter, who have played for SA shouldnt be allowed to play for England in all honesty.

I really don't see the problem with our SA-born players - I think without exception they have a British and a SA parent, so in my mind are quite within their rights to play for either country.

As it happens, Morgan I feel has 'less' right to play for England than any of our SA-born players, as he qualifies solely under residency and has no British parentage.

The influx of saffers worries me as both a south african and england fan - born and live in sa for 30 years in uk for 9. As a south african I worry about players turning their back on sa for riches elsewhere. I can understand it as I have done the same but we are losing a lot of good talent.

As an england fan it worries me as you have to wonder how well development of english talent is going. If england are going to improve they have to ensure that their is always players knocking on the selectors door. Still believe there is too much county cricket. Players cannot go flat out throughout the ridiculously long season and expect not to get injured.

As for beefy lost all respect for him after he keeps harping on about how good he believes KP is. Almost makes you think he is KP's agent rather than a commentator - oh yeah he is.

Yup. Agreed. As I said, I have no problem with them donning the three lions. And, as you said, they have plenty of English blood in them; I certainly consider Strauss and Prior to be English, despite their place of birth.

What worries me is that we might not be looking at English talent. It's hard to argue against the Saffers inclusion, most have learnt their trade over here (apart from Kieswetter).

It's just a minor niggle really. As a Yorkshireman, I'm just a bit ****ed that they over-looked Rashid :p

This is another good point. The central contract is a big boon in a sport that pays relatively poorly compared to most others. I'm loathed to be overly cynical, but I can't help but see pound signs in too many players eyes these days.

For me, KP is at the root of this. He might have the lions tattoos, but I still question his desire to perform for England. I know it's fashionable to knock him theses days, but he just doesn't convince me.
