HBO Boxing: Faceoff

This is tonight guys. :D

I think this will be a good one simply because Clottey is no push-over. Clottey has been given a chance which he probably thought he would never get in his life, I think he will be very up for it. He's never even been close to being stopped, can Pacquaio be the first one to stop him?

The most likely result will no doubt be a points win for Pacman.

Predictions? :)

I forgot about this :p Thanks for the reminder.

My boxing club has it's annual show at the Brighton Hilton tonight, so I get to see my mates kicking ass and then come home to this :D

Should be awesome.

Pacquiao easily. Clottey is far too defensive and slow IMO
He's pretty much made for PacMan in the fact that he does not swarm opponents throwing punches in bunches. He doesn't even move when punches are coming his way, just tries to block them rather than get out of the way of them. He also has severe stamina issues if his fights are anything to go by where he goes long periods without throwing anything of note.

All signs point to a very easy night for PacMan which will prove nothing in the grand scheme of things.

what time is it on ? UK time that is

2am skysports i think...usually stupid o clock timed fight:p

Obviously got my money on Pacman to win this...probably be a stoppage of some sort...thank god this is free to air as i didnt fancy spending £15 odd to watch a fight that lasted a few mins:p

Agree smit. Not the fight we all wanted tonight, just hope something strange doesn't occur!!

man i hate the these yank times but hey its a free fight :p

Pacman needs to do it quickly imo. I don't think he can afford to go 12 rounds with a Super-Middle when he's looking for Mayweather/Mosley next.

Filipino and proud :)

I hope Manny will win, i expect him too, but no one knows too much about Clottey, so it'll be difficult to call.

I think Manny can stop him, around the 9th, he'll cut him, then throw too many punches and the ref will stop it.

Come on Manny, pride of the Philippines!!!!!

This fight will definately not be an early stoppage or KO unless Pacman gets KO'd.

Clottey is tough, I thought he won vs Cotto tbh he looked totally unscathed, the only thing that cost him was he just took his foot off the gas. He gave Cotto time to recover when he had him almost finished.

If he goes into this fight, with that little bit more aggression, it could be an awesome fight.

Remember guys, Clottey has never even LOOKED CLOSE to being knocked out. If Pacquiao manages it, it will be some feat.

Pacquiao easily, a fighter's chance is about all Clottey has for me.

Disregarding Pacman's desctruction of him, Clottey's loss to Cotto says it all about the level he's at. With Cotto unquestionably there for the taking for a fair portion of the fight, I was genuinely surprised that Clottey never even looked capable of putting him away.

early rounds are the only real danger i see for pacman.....after a few rounds the bigger guy will get tired quicker and have no chance to out box him or even match him for power.

this is regarding this fight between these two btw :p

The undercards are pretty decent this time, you've got David Diaz, Castillo, Gomez from the contender.

Looks like a good show, they say there is already 65000 people at the stadium.

In vegas, the undercards are always empty, and only fill up for the main event, so this is a refreshing change.

All hail the Pacman and the awesome stadium!

haha, the staredown at the weigh in Pacman cracked and started laughing, he gave Clottey's man behind him a playfull punch so I think he was pulling faces behind Clottey to try to get Pacman to laugh.

Can't see Clottey coming even close to be honest, slight height advantage but thats about it.

The biggest problem is Pacman's seemingly one of the fastest improving fighters from fight to fight, because Roach seems to highlight every weakness in new fights and works on them aswell as coming up with very targeted strategy's to nullify their opponents main strength. Pacman just seems stronger and faster in every fight basically.
