Has anyone gone from a 275 to 1 of these whiles playing BFC2 ?
Doe's it perform a lot better then the 275 ?
I dont get great smoothnes via 1 275.
I tried 2 in sli, and it was 100 times smoother @1920x1200 maxed.

I get jaggy lines via DX 10. just wonderd if it's better with the 5850 Via DX 11 ?

Blimy that's a huge difference, No wonder why i needed 2 275's to run a lot smoother.

I guess 2 x 5850's overclocked to 5870 clocks would be overkill then

hmmm looks like my 275 is going to a new home

I am so tempted to get 2 of these and CF them. I mean a 5970 is £500 so these are cheaper.

Some might slate the game, but i think it's great fun.
Let me know how it goes. and check couple of things if you don't mind.

When i play via DX 10 with my 275, the game dont give me AA 100%.
Still get jaggy lines on the fences etc. not sure if the DX 11 sorts this out ?

And i read it takes a while to load up via multiplayer also.

Let us know how you get on, and what res you use

Got my 5870 today as well, just giving it a bit of benching at the minute but will be trying it on bc2 later.

Finally got round to installing it, had errands to run this morning/lunchtime. Currently using the 10.2 drivers, no overclocks running stock and I must say I'm impressed! The fan stays nice and quiet, but if you manually over ride it and put it to say 50% it gets pretty noisy, at 100% it's rediculously loud.

Running BFBC2 at 1680x1050 including HBAO and never dropped below 35 fps, with HBAO off it was happily running at 45fps. The cpu is an i7 920 @ 3.6ghz for reference.

Saw this and went and ordered the Asus 5850, hope it works well in my older rig.
Reason I went for it is the great reports and my WOW is occasionally completely freezing the PC (even LCD clock on G15 stops) and I have to reset, even though the current 8800gts shows around 52c I think it is the culprit.
Hoping so and extra boost in performance on my 1650x1050 setup.

Did you notice any jaggies ?

Any problems with long loading. and have you tried 1920 x 1200 ?
Well that's if you have the screen for that res
