Advice needed on practice amp

I need a new practice amp as my old one has bit the dust, a friend suggested a Marshal or a Line 6 as the best value for money.
Can anyone comment on either of these makes or suggest anything better.
I have up to £80 to spend.

i have a line6 spider II. It seems like a good amp but i cant compare it to anything (first proper amp).

I've just bought a Peavey Vypyr 30. They also do a 15w which might be worth adding to the list.

If of course you're handy with a soldering iron. Should be about £50 all in driving something like a Celestion Super 8.

Had them both, no real competition for a good all round practice amp at that price range. Although you can use the cube with 6 rechargable AA's and make it portable

I didn't know you could use the Cube with batteries. :eek:
