Okay, obviously not a proper model but anyone hazard a guess as to what THIS actually is?

A ST220 with a few mods and a stupid name or a derv that's actually running about 100bhp less than he claims.

Advert made me lol and literally contains no info about the car

That's a zetec 4 pot engine, not a derv or a V6, so it's presumably had an aftermarket turbo conversion

You have to wonder why

Same reason anyone does silly modifications to their cars I guess - you'll have to ask them as I dont get it!

He says at the bottom it's a 2.0 on the v5 (cheap insurance y0!), I think 245bhp is a bit optimistic for a 2.0 zetec with a turbo - even if it makes the same 220bhp as the ST220, the power delivery wont be as good....so pretty pointless, disgusting and chavvy

probably the engine from the old focus rs? what a disgrace of an advert though.

I very much doubt it - given the cost of the Focus RS, buying the engine from one would be out of the realms of the type of person who installs blue led footwell lighting

I love the way these chavs have them still declared as the old engine, cheap on insurance innit mayte! Especially when they drop cav turbo engines in corsa's but the V5 still says 1.2, I think the inspector may well notice should you ever need to use that insurance.

he says it was in fast ford so i had a bit of inspiration and looked at there site, sadly the search function is terrible

Loads of car enthusiasts turbocharge/supercharge their cars looking for more power. To call them chavs seems a bit ott imo. It's not like it's rolling on spinners with a gastly bodykit and afterburner lights. It's quite possible he's paid for a prof. conversion.

Looks a tidy mondy to me. I wouldn't have spent money turboing it, but then I probably wouldn't have bought a mondy in the first place.

He's not declared the turbo/modification to the DVLA and said nothing about the mileage, other uprated parts or the service history - which should be perfect if you want to risk turbo-ing an N/A engine.

Agreed, barely any useful info in the add. And with regards to his comment about it being 'booked' as a 2litre, very silly. However I could find you dozens and dozens of car adds that display very little useful info about the cars in question.

All I'm saying is the car (rather than the owner) might be ok.

DVLA couldn't give a rats if you've turbo'd your engine though

As for the line about the power delivery being worse, a 2l turbo knocking on the door of 250bhp will at least feel a bit fast, which can't be said about the ST220.

Don't understand? Why would the dvla care about the mods?

You dont have to declare turbos to the DVLA - only engine changes. So if he's had the existing 2 litre Duratec turbocharged why would the DVLA need to be involved?
