Trust - you and companies?

Ok, lets say you have delt with a firm once or twice in the past and all was ok.

Then you get something of value sent to you, broken, but due to rules on postage to send it back cost you 10% of the item. A 10% loss and you end up with no item to show for it.

The company in question doesnt seem to bothered in helping either and seem happy for you to pay for their mistake. But in the past they have been ok but you have always gone there and never used postage before.

Would you use them again, ever, or just go find another place to get the item you are after from?

service is key these days with so much competition between companies

at a minimum i would have thought it was covered by the couriers insurance

Surely the money you have lost will be gained by putting in a claim to the shipping company? Its not the companies responsibility if the item is damaged in transit, its the people delivering the item

The item was not broken by the people shipping it to me, but by the people who put it together. It was so called tested and found working before shipping to me but when i got it, it wasnt working, hmmmm.

how do you know that it wasnt broken in transit?

what was the item ?

I thought until it gets to you in one piece, it is the responsibility of the company you bought it from, regardless of whether they contracted a courier?

you would report it to the company you bought it from and they would put a claim in to the courier who delivered its insurance to pay out for the damage
