Mondeo RS Turbo....

Why is turbocharging a car disgusting and chavvy??? Pointless is debatable (it's not something I would do to a Mondeo personally but everyone likes different things after all) but I wouldn't describe it as 'disgusting'.

The turbo isnt per-se, but the rest of the car is IMO!

I thought we'd ascertained by about the 10th post that the DVLA don't care if you modify the existing engine, be it with an air filter from Halfords or a rebuild from the ground up with the addition of a turbocharger. Insurance, on the other hand.. :p

That could be a pretty nice sleeper .

Though he doesn't list any specs?

Could you really get 245bhp out of the 2.0l with a turbo

Dad's 2.0L Zetec (the N/A Ford before the Duratec) in the Westfield is running 250BHP. No turbo/super charger/nitrous. Just lots of £££ on N/A tuning.

Not the worst modified car I've ever seen, apart from the internal lighting its quite understated and well done I think

Jeeez there are some clueless posters on OCUK motors :(

Apologies unreservedly for not being able to recognize a 2.0 Ford engine from a Mondeo from 1 blury dark image.

I understand that by not being able to do this, or knowing how tunable the engine is I OcUK fail, which evidently means I fail at life and should be consigned to a hell where only Vauxhall exist.

One would assume that the user hasn't informed his insurance about the mods.

That's one hell of an assumption to make?

If I ever do sell my GTI, I'll drop the "On the Logbook as a 1.6" line towards the end of the ad. As far as I'm concerned it is a selling point, and I am going to be damn sure to take advantage of it.

I'm sorry but you went off on a mini crusade where you stated, as fact, that he hadn't done things he should have when in reality the only thing that wasn't done is you checking your facts.

There is nothing wrong with not knowing what you are talking about, but if you don't, its best you don't start throwing accusations around, do you not think?
