My weekend just past was one of my busiest with photography. Started Friday night shooting a gig, and Sunday morning at the 'local' (Beverley, near Hull) kids football league game, and ended with Sunday evening shoot for my Malaysian Society, they participated in this year's International Student Association Culture Night.

Long story short, I've shot about 400 shots just that evening, processed about 200 'good enough ones' and loaded up 150 on Facebook for the frenzy of taggers among my university folks. Link for you guys to see the others if you're interested.

Here's a selection to share with you guys;
All shot with my E620 + 50-250mm SWD lens, apart from the last group shot, that's with the 12-60mm SWD with Metz 48 flash bounced behind me.

Apart from the last shot, most of my shots were hovering around the ISO1000 point, which has some noise but isn't an issue. Shooting staged, assuming there's good light - like those for Gilbert and Sullivan, is so much easier than shooting a 2 spot light gig, that's for sure!

I've also come to LOVE the 50-200mm SWD lens and it's now definitely in my wish list, a 1kg lens at the range of 100-400mm f2.8-3.5, Hell Yeah! I've got another week of hire yet, so going to make full use of it :D

C&C welcome.

Is it be or is there some real distortion on the very last picture?

Aye, there is some distortion - the distortion is only seen when at 12mm (24mm equiv.) I didn't want to use that but I was literally against a wall for that one. I've tried correcting it in PS but it's a lot trickier as it's wavy.

You seem to have done fairly well there, I can imagine the lighting didn't help, I bet you are wanting faster lenses for this type of work. I've never really kept up with 4 3rds lenses so don't know what choices you have.
edit: I reckon you could have maybe gotten away with a higher ISO on some of them to increase the shutter speed or get more light in, but again I don't know how you camera copes at 1600+

I didn't want to push too hard, have IS on to compensate and for an f2.8-3.5 at 100-400mm (35mm equiv.) it's not too shabby. Sharp all through the range too. I would kill for a faster lens, like the 35-100mm f2.0 (70-200mm equiv) - but that's in the £1300 range and I just can't afford it, renting it is an option but the 50-200mm SWD, like the USM in Canon's range, is faster for a cheaper price. Plus, that lens is a BIG lens for a 4/3rd body.
