Depends how old you are. Anything past 20 years old and I would think someone who hadn't spent years in a single relationship saying 4 was an outright lie.

I agree, and what does it achieve when you find out your partner has been around the block more than you, or the opposite ?

I certainly wouldnt tell my gf that, and I wouldnt want her telling me her number either.
 
I've had the conversation with a few women - I always thought my amount was kinda average for a twenty something guy in this day and age, but they look at me a little disgusted.

But on the flip side, if she's had ANYONE other than me, she's tarnished and broken
 
I've been asked, I had no problem telling, but now when I say how many I've slept with I take one off, not because I want to be less of a man-whore, but it was a bad decision and I don't acknowledge my actions >.>

If you're going to do this, always say the same number... always. If they ask you again later on in the relationship, you know the number already, else you could get in bother!

Dunno, I only popped at 21, 4 long term gfs, and a single one night stand. Maybe my number is so low because I never went to uni. :p

Can't explain it. And since I've been single it's kind of worse! I guess it's one of them things you just have to get past.

EDIT: Marky, at times yeah it does lmao. But I believe in my religion to the fullest so just get on with life.

Why dont you ask the buddhist monks how they live or nuns who take a vow of celibacy??

Ive been celibate for a few yrs in the past and its not that bad...found it quite refreshing as it makes you appreciate sex a bit more.
