The Pacific **NEW TRAILER**

What threads got closed?

It's a bit weak to close a thread just because some people have seen a TV program that's aired free anyway while some other people can't see it for whatever reason.

I suppose threads discussing every film should get closed as well then just in case the talk involves DVDrips instead of bought copies!

I dont want the thread closed either, providing that those people who are watching the episodes by some "means" online keep their mouths (fingers :) ) shut and dont blab about the series before its actually shown here.

I dont want to know if its good, I dont want to know if its bad, I dont want to know about scene x, y or z, I dont want to know about <insert highlight from this weeks episode>.

By all means, using whatever methods the user wants/needs, watch it "early" if you really must, but then kindly stfu about it until its shown here. Thats what I call common decency. I know...a rare thing in our society these days.

How do you know what region I'm in..?

I had assumed (I might be wrong though) that he was saying not so much what region the user was in, rather what region this site was "aimed" at. I came to that conclusion because of the line where it says "This hasn't been shown in the UK!!!", stating that its referencing UK rather than "This hasnt been shown anywhere"

Admittedly though thats all assumption by me, but rules are rules so to speak :)

How do you know what region I'm in..? There are many Americans on this board and you want to close the thread because people in the UK haven't seen a programme they have? This place is moronic sometimes.

Great way to engage in a reasonable debate on the subject by describing it as moronic, that'll win them over.

Its their forum, their rules, they are made clear in the stickies and has also been debated at length many times, notably here quite recently.

Whether i agree or not, i respect the fact that it is their forum, their rules, full stop. These forums are an outlet of a commercial organisation and therefore its not hard to understand their stance on the subject.

Goodbye thread, thanks for all the memories.

Well it is moronic, sorry if that offends you. I can say what I want about the rules, doesnt mean I have to break them ;) The episode is clearly available to stream from the HBO site, nothing illegal going on

OCuk have a harsh stance on this type of thing , after all this is a great marketing tool
for them and they dont want to risk anything

OT: Watched first ep last night and enjoyed it , off to a good start methinks

Cant be all that available to stream though as it appears that several people in this thread got Not available to your region messages when trying to view the stream, which would seem to indicate that...well....its not available to our region :D

FYI HBO have twice show episode 1 online free for all. 1st time was friday and it got pulled because it was shown in error too early.

The 2nd time (yesterday) was to the wrong regions.

-----------------

Anyway, back on top before this threads ruined even more.

Episode 1 is only being shown on HBO's site to help pull the punters and sell subscriptions to the channel. The remaining 9 will only get shown on HBO's tv channel (in the US of course). For us, its Sky only until the dvd/blu-ray comes out.

:D

We need a thread where we can talk about it without people sissyfitting about spoilers and decency :p

Wouldnt that inherently go against the already stated rules though? I mean surely if they wanted to allow a thread to talk about it prior to episodes being shown here, they would have one.

If you're still after a thread where you can talk about it without people sissyfitting about spoilers and decency I can point you in the direction of a few thousand forums with exactly that thread ;)

Oh ! so they are only showing the first episode on that site then and none of the rest?

I wouldn't hold your breath.

Good News though!

The Pacific Blu-ray Release in Time for Father's Day

During the Atlanta premiere of the HBO ten-part "miniseries event" The Pacific, it was announced that it will be available for purchase on Father's Day weekend, which probably means a release date of June 15, a mere month after the last episode airs. Although only DVD was explicitly mentioned in the announcement, it clearly will come out in high-def as well, as the HBO website already features DVD and Blu-ray versions. No other release details are available at this early stage.

Well I will be watching it on Sky HD anyway, but nice to know that I can get the boxset pencilled in as my Fathers Day present :)
