Well I did it, i finally racked up the balls to click confirm for one of these bad boys. It's being delivered tommorow. £600 well spent? Your views please.

I've purchased this to replace a GTX260 Core 216 55nm in SLI, these were originally £150.00 each from OcUK. Ill probably buy another of the 5970's soonish when i rack up the funds.

Few questions:

Will i be able to see the difference from the GTX 260's in SLI? (these were sparkle ones..

Will the card fit in an antec 1200?

Anyone have one playing BFBC2? Thoughts?

My rig is a 6GB DDR3 Core i7 920 @ 3.6

Cheers guys

Mine's in order too... :) I've done quite a bit of research on this card and though there's a small premium above the sapphire 5970 oc, you'll find that its worth it in the long run.

2 years Warranty

AND

You can transfer the Warranty in the future should you choose to sell and upgrade.

The Overvolt tool now works for 64 bit Windows as well!

I'm pretty sure i've seen 5970's in A1200's.

Shouldn't be a problem

Let us know mate! Would be interesting how high you can clock it up.

Which programs will you be using the clock the card and monitoring stability?

Well XFX card apparently comes with its own overclocking tool so i'll probably give that one a shot, mixed in with furmark for stress testing, followed by a few rounds of 3d mark.

My GPU overclocking usually consists of upping the clocks whilst furmark is running constantly untill i get artifacts, then dropping it down by 10mhz.

I've got fairly good air cooling in my case so i never really worry about temps :D

£600 - you're mad. :(

I bought one for £584.99. The plan was that my brother was going to have my 5850 and i was going to have the 5970, didn't turn out as planned. The 5970 was too big for my case and i wasn't happy with the hdd cages sticking out in order for it to fit, i also didn't realise the 5850 i had was the pcs+ version, so i'm in the process of sending the 5970 back to where it came from and i'm very happy with keeping my 5850 after finding out what version it was.

It was the Sapphire OC version [5970].

Nope, i have an Antec 902 and i honestly love that case. I wouldn't of done it anyway, buying a 5970 and then paying another amount of money to get it to fit, as well as re-installing everything...Too much work tbh.

depends how the "black" edition performs.

If I was to buy one I would have gone for the sapphire and saved a bit. My 4890 2GB was nowhere that price when I bought that new.
