Saw this on PH earlier - couldn't believe the story!

I wonder how many factory fresh E30 M3's are still kicking around. My guess is not many!

The interior of that m3 looks so fresh!!

except for one thing.

The milage shows as 93 but the trip shows as 104.2?

He explains that dude, apparently they come off the production line with the mileage set at 999990, so that there's room for 10 miles road testing before the car leaves the factory.

I'd have thought it just as easy as to reset (both)it before it left, otherwise what if you don't do exactly 10 miles road testing?

or did they do that? (exactly 10 miles?)

I'm suprised at BMW if thats the case. Cause someone clearly didn't hit the reset on the trip when he got it, if thats the case.

either which way, that steering wheel on it still looks so velvety!

This is why if I were ever to make enough money to start a proper car collection the usage of all my vehicles will be open to all my friends and family - It is a massive shame that some of arguably the best drivers cars in the world are going to spend their entire existences in some dusty garage :(.

Nope, I've not forgotten about a past purchase, and don't have a factory fresh E46 M3 CSL and Lambourghini Miura in there. :(
