GTX400 series pushed back?

i am waiting for this **** almost 5 months and they want push it back no no nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Fud reckons £299 for the lower GTX 400 series which should be slightly faster than a 5870. Launching in the USA 26th.

Lower one apparantly sits between HD4850 and 70, the higher one sits just above it.

Can't see it being £300 either.

fudzilla were also adamant that the GTX380 wasn't delayed and would be out in January...

Yeah, so the GTX470 is £300 and faster than a 5870...

fuds talked arse about nvidia's fermi for the last 6 months, iv given up listening to his stuff regarding this card, hes always wrong and keeps changing his story every other day... :|

However, as we warned you yesterday, the shops might increase the price if they feel like that the product will see huge demand and if it sells great.

mega fail... wasnt the reason the ATI cards where on high demand was because of there low prices ?

So raiseing prices at start will make them on low demand...

i say sell at lowest price for first few weeks then raise. Or just keep them low to sell more and make more money.

That's not how shops work though, we only see low prices during "offer" periods - otherwise OcUK prices for example would be always low which would be nice!

I can see the price being the one thing that kills this card. If the lowest price for the 470 is £300, then it will probably sell for at least £350 when it hits the shops. What about the 480!? That will probably sell for about £500 I bet.

One thing I'm confused about is where is Fud getting the information that the 470 is slightly faster than the 5870 when all NVIDIA has been benchmarking is the 480 vs. 5870?

Fuad Abazovic doesn't half write some pro-nVidia tosh. All his Fermi "articles" seem to have an underlying agenda around Fermi being an ace product and that ATi had better watchout...

Gfx card prices in general are eye watering these days.

Not true - they've ALWAYS been expensive ;) If anything, they're cheaper today than they have been for years and it's mostly down to ATi dropping the 4850/4870 bombshell a couple of years back; never had there been a card that offered that level of performance for a sub-£200 price tag at launch. The 58xx is more expensive because where's the competition?

Fermi's "speculative" launch dates (I say speculative as I remain unconvinced of when it will actually launch) are ridiculous at this point. If they push it back any further ATI will be releasing their next generation...

This delay was announced a few days ago.
