I know.. I spelt Cheltenham wrong in the title :/. It's that time of year again, where we welcome the world's greatest National Hunt festival and it's looking to be a cracker.

There are many hot favourites, particularly Kauto Star, Dunguib, Master Minded, Big Bucks.. to name but a few!

I'll put my selections up later on, but I'm really looking forward to this. For anyone that's interested in having a flutter but isn't sure about how to go about placing a bet, feel free to ask here and I'm sure you'll get plenty of help.

www.oddschecker.com is a great place to find out the best odds currently, as well as specials such as free bets for new/existing customers.

Paddy Power are offering "money back if Dunguib wins" the Supreme Novices Hurdle tomorrow at 1.30, which includes win parts of an each-way bet, so there may be value in taking an outsider here. I can't see him losing though.

Ok, so here's my picks. Last year I did an enormous write-up but was made to look like a spoon when I had 1 winner out of the 6, so it'll be name, distance and selection this year.

13:30 - 2m 110yrds Class 1 Spinal Research Supreme Novices Hurdle (grade 1) (4yo plus) - DUNGUIB (10/11f) <- 3rd 4/5f
14:05 - 2m Class 1 Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase (grade 1) (5yo plus) - SIZING EUROPE (5/1) <- 1st 6/1
14:40 - 3m 110yrds Class 1 William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase (grade 3) (5yo plus) - RAZOR ROYALE (16/1) <- Nowhere, 14/1
15:20 - 2m 110yrds Class 1 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy (grade 1) (4yo plus) - ZAYNAR (8/1) <- 3rd 15/2
16:00 - 3m 7f Class 2 Glenfarclas Handicap Chase (cross Country) (5yo plus) - GARDE CHAMPETRE (9/4f) <- 5th 7/4f
16:40 - 2m 4f Class 1 David Nicholson Mares Hurdle (grade 2) (4yo plus) -QUEVEGA (2/1) <- 1st 6/4f

1.30 Dunguib at evens win

2.05 Captain Cee Bee at 3/1 win

2.40 The Package at 13/2 win

3.20 Go Native for me

4.00 L'ami win

4.40 VOLER LA VEDETTE win

Menorah (12/1) takes the opener by a nose from Get Me Out Of Here (9/2) and a disappointing Dunguib (4/5f) who was full of running but was produced far too late.

My pick Sizing Europe (6/1) wins the Arkle by a length from Somersby (4/1) and Osana (12/1).

Keep your money in your pocket! Other than that, back Kauto Star in the big one.

I've gone with Cast Cada is the first today.

Maybe punchestown in the third and i can't see anyone beating Master Minded

I had a treble of Punchestowns, Big Zeb and Wishful Thinking. Thank god the last fell otherwise I'd be cursing Punchestowns even more

Ladbrokes have a superb offer on today:

Back Big Buck's in the 3:20 (currently 4/6f) and if he wins by 5 lengths or more they'll pay out at evens.

Had a little tip but won't say where from for now, but I've been told to pile on The Hollinwell in the 1.30 tomorrow. Its currently 8/1, and I'm on.

That's the last time I listen to the owner of a horse, it was about 200 lengths behind :D

Cheltenham 13:30 : Outright Betting Soldatino 6/1 Won Open
Cheltenham 14:05 : Outright Betting Oldrik 9/1 Lost
Cheltenham 14:40 : Outright Betting Quel Esprit 13/2 Open
Cheltenham 15:20 : Outright Betting Kauto Star 4/6 Open
Cheltenham 16:00 : Outright Betting Gentle George 20/1 Open
Cheltenham 16:40 : Outright Betting Meath All Star 11/1 Open

E-W 4-folds and 5-folds for a giggle.

By the way, I said back in October that Barizan would be a great e-w bet for the Triumph Hurdle at 50/1 and he was 2nd. Wish I'd done it.

What a day to be a bookie, the 1st 3 in the 2:40 were 50/1, 28/1 and 100/1
