Some people clearly don't understand what "have slept with..." means 
At my 24 I've been with 1 girl only - that is my current gf whom we've been together with for 6 years or so now. Kinda was all geeky and never enjoyed clubs whatsoever. Really really hated my teens
Anyway, I don't think headcount should be generally lied about. If you don't see it going anywhere with this girl, then tell her whatever. This might actually be a good way to break up - tell her she is your 2967th Otherwise if you like the person and would like to try longer relationship with them then definitely tell the truth. If you lie - be sure it will come up some time later and girls really remember that kind of crap, so you will be caught.

There was a point I kept a track on number. I had a really strange idea when I was younger that once I hit the number of girls equal to my age that girl would be the keeper 
Anyhow, the number girl who was equal to my age she turned out to be a psycho so that wasn't happening, then I grew up (a bit), settled with a lass for 3 years but now we're over and I completely forget how many women it is now which makes me realise it doesn't matter does it

31 years old, slept with 11 women, been with my wife for 12 years (with a small break in the middle, this is where i did most of my best work )
