Does This Exist?

Hello,

Does something like this exist. I have my headphones and my speakers but only one jack output on my computer. Is there anything exists that splits it in to two outputs but I can control which one the sounds come out of.

Basically, so they can both stay plugged in and then I can select which one the sound actually comes out of, maybe some kind of USB device?

Thanks

How about a simple splitter such as this one...

...then you just switch the speakers off when you want to listen on the headphones? Simples.

P.S. Hope that link's OK, mods - couldn't find a splitter on here.

But I'd like to simply leave it all on and then just select from either a box on my desk or a program in Windows.

Thanks Frame. Exactly what I was after :)

So you replace the action of switching your speakers on or off as appropriate with the action of switching your little splitter box between headset or speakers as appropriate? What an amazing leap in efficiency!:p:) And adding a cheap switch to the signal path wont do sound quality any favours either. Wonder if that all explains why the linked item is discontinued?

Sorry, dont intend to sound like I'm taking the p**s. I guess the practicality of either solution boils down to your particular setup. Just seems a bit pointless to me to add the extra box/switch, and heaven forbid software if there really is a Windows controlled version!:)
