Morning gents. Managed to get a lovely puncture yesterday so need two new tyres on the back.

I've only recently bought the car, on the front are Michelin Pilot Primacy 195/55/16. I am considering the following for the rear.....

Toyo T1R
Vredestein Sportrac 3
Kumho KU31

Any others? Looking 70-80 a corner ish. Would I be better off putting these new ones on the front and shifting the Michelins to the back? There's plenty of tread left on the fronts but I'm not sure how good a tyre they are. I will eventually be looking to have the same all round, the T1R's are highly recommended by other owners of my car so I'm drawn to them.

While we're at it, any good fitters in Bristol should I get them delivered ala camskill? Mobile fitting is a plus aslong as I'm not paying an arm and a leg for it.

Can you not get a vulcanised repair done on the puncture?

Apparently not! Took it to the National Auto Centre round the corner and the bloke thought not, and I actually believed him because they had no tyres in stock of my size anyway. Figured he's not trying to squeeze more money out of me if they cant!

The tyre was close to the limit anyway so I'm not that fussed. Really wanted another month out of them because I'm servicing this weekend but hey, **** happens :(.

What car?

If the T1R's are specifically recommended by "other owners" then you can't really go wrong. They're a good tyre, just don't suit all cars. :)

Vredstein Sportrac 3's from camskill looks the best bang for buck at the moment. Local mobile fitters will do fitting/balancing for £10 a tyre so think I'll go that route!

Anyone ordered from camskill before? Will have to be delivered at work, do they just use normal couriers or is going to appear on a pallet or anything funky :p?

Was City Link when I ordered from them if I recall correctly, and there was no dodgy "crate" or anything, just 4 tyres with stickers on! :)

Good news. Think the receptionist is getting a bit annoyed with me, been a delivery almost every day the last 2 weeks!

I had a set of Vredstein Sportrac 3s on my VTR and found them 'ok'. They have a good wear rate but don't have the grip of the Vredstein Ultracs I fitted to my Astra and currently have on my CTR (unfortunately the smallest size they are available in is 205/50/16)
