Best Graphics card for £80 please

For the usage you have, I'd say get a 4670, mine's served me very very well, it runs MW2 at 1920x1200 with no trouble at all really.

Very good card for the price tag, which I think is about £60 now. I'd either go for that, or stretch to a 5770.

I would look at a second hand 4870 if you can get one, at the end of day mid range gfx cards seem to be getting faster and games seem to demand about the same.

cheers for all the comments guys its really appreciated.

I would prefer to get a new card, its just less hassle and the warranty gives peace of mind.

I missed out on that RAM, cant get to a computer during the day :(

So I think I've narrowed it down to 3 cards, Which do you think will give best performance.

Unless I'm missing something better than any of these for under £90 which would give the best preformance?

thanks
Dan

Well, the 9800GTX is the slowest of the 3 cards that and it's old version, and its refreshed version is 9800GTX+ and that is faster and cooler (because it's moved from GTX's 65nm process to 55nm)...and ironically, the 9800GTX+ got rebranded to GTS250 :D

The HD5750 is 40nm, so it draws less power and runs much cooler than the
Nvidia cards. At stock speed, the HD5750 should be on par with the GTS250 (9800GTX+)...if not faster, however the HD5750 should have much room for overclocking than the GTS250. And the finally you have to take into the account of the bonus of support for dx11, wherease GTS250 only support up to dx10.

So with both HD5750 and GTS250 at same price, I think it is pretty much nobrainer to pick HD5750 over GTS250.

cool, decision made :)

thank you for all your help.

so as its stand the rig is as follows, unless I can get hold of some of that geil RAM which if so I would change for the G.Skill

Just to add I wont be buying the GFX card untill after the system is up and running and I get some more cash so will make do with the on board graphics till then. Also migh add another 4Gb of RAM, but will see how I get on with 4 first.

Aftermarket cooling on the CPU? And if you're getting a graphics card then get the USB3 770 board for the same price.

As for graphics cards... GTS 250, 4850, 4770, 5670.

Reread his post...he's not getting a graphic card now that is why he's getting that motherboard that got equivalent of HD4200 onboard graphic.
