im excited about these :D

http://www.spax-uk.com/spax/spax-rsx-coilover-kits.html

spax RSX coilovers.

this time ill have adjustable damping, which i dont have at the moment.

my current eibach suspension is not damping adjustable, it is more track focused so very hard for day to day use.

ill be able to get the car lower too and with adjustable damping out to get a decent ride from it.

pics to follow on saturday

What are the spring rates? As per my Civic, damping counts for little in terms of comfort if you have high spring rate.

My eibachs are Eibach Pro Street coilovers. they are dual spring, tender and main so the main spring has a much higher rate than is normally found on a golf, but due to the tender spring. its part of eibachs ERS spring system making them progressive.

from what i can find out so far, the spax have "sensible" spring rates giving you much more of a chance to get a decent ride

Barry, my eibachs went on new in august 08, ive put on maybe 30k miles since then, i could find out for sure.

they look prestine still, handling is unquestionably good, but day to day it will test your patience. im replacing them because the spax have come up as a good deal.

how much... £300ono

Nice! I'm running Spax RSX' on my 318. Let me know how you get on.

Is ride height adjustable front and back on the kit that you have (mine is only height adjustable on the front, but there are kits where it's both front and back)? Will be very interested to know your thoughts on them against the Pro Street coilovers.

You can get the RSX kit very soft - great for soaking up the potholes!

i have normal coil over damper design by default on the golf whereas on the back of a 3 series yours is separate

if you speak to GAZ i think theyll be able to make you an adjustable platform job for the rear to change the height

ive heard a lot of good things about the RSXs so im confident thisll be the last time i have to change.

setting up the dampers should be VERY fun

Ah, that'd be it. I think the rear height is spot on, so not too fussed about adjustable height.

I couldn't find much about the RSX' before I bought them, are they newish? Very happy with them either way, they work well both on the track and broken country lanes.

there isnt much out there. american sites appear to have more users with RSX and theyre all positive. on the pre krypton dampers, people moaned about seals dying, but i couldnt find any reported on the newer ones

on club gti there were some useers with glowing reports on the RSXs, people i trust so i took the jump. feels like christmas :D
