Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts, a mate's Fiesta has gone a bit mental. :D

Above 60 the car will pull fine, then suddenly lose power and it's a challenge to get it back to even 60, seemingly random.

Also when cold, it kangaroos like a *****, and I mean pretty bad.

Are these common issues? I don't like American cars. :p

American cars??

Anyway, maybe a problem with fueling (fuel filter, pump), or the air flow meter?

Worth checking.

Cheers for the replies, it's a odd one :p

Due to the kangarooing only being when cold, could it be sensor or ignition related?

I was told it was just a sensor - possibly the vehicle speed sensor(?). Think the issue just disappeared though, will report back once I've driven it a bit more.

Although a different engine by nature, the loss of power at high speed was a symptom I had when my air filter was blocked.

It's most likely fuelling related, but a dead easy thing to check so worth having a quick look before much else

Air filter is no power at higher revs isn't it?
