Who is going this year? I've lived in Leeds for 8 years now and have never been because ive been on holiday or had big family do's. Last year I did V fest and whilst the lineup was good we were all not happy that music stopped at 11.30pm and people in the camp site moaned about us making noise at night!!

This year I will definately be going. How are you getting your tickets? I think they come out on the same day the lineup is released 29th March, websites like see and ticket master will no doubt go down so i plan on going to crash records or jumbo in leeds on tuesday as they go on sale then

while it's possibly a bit noisier at night than some other festivals show some consideration to the people around where you're camping, if you're the only people making noise you're probably ****ing off people who are trying to sleep, and if they identify you they'll probably exact their revenge at some point.

As for getting your tickets from a shop, just get down there mega early, there will be a big queue.

Lol go Ape****. its a festival, if you ant partying till 5am, your doing something wrong. aslong as you ant in the quiet zone then do what you want within the rules.

the people that moan about noise at a festival like leeds when they camp in orange, red or blue are pretty dumb and are clearly not well educated on how these events work.

have been the past 4 years, thoroughly enjoy it, get smashed, wake up, feel like crap, have a few drinks, feel better, watch some good bands, then get smashed again. rinse and repeat for 4 long days.

if you dont come back smelling like an australian forest fire, then your a lucky boy/girl!

Yeah, online and offline, getting tickets is a ****.

I really want to go this year but still don't know if I can afford it!

shipinabottle - It was Vfest that people were moaning. We wernt in a quiet area but there was only me and my mates and another group up (about 20 people) we heard people saying "its the first day, they are going to feel **** tomorrow" We all got up at 8am and got straight back on it.

Think i said it before, if i pay £200 for a festival ticket then another £150+ then im there not to sleep

aye exactly, my thoughts. im not there for a nice, kip because frankly the less time i spend in a tent the happier i am. i cant stand tents.

and i was talking to the guy who replied to show courtasy towards the other campers in your site. Theres dedicated quiet and calm areas. and like leeds you generally have less hecti zones like white where it is a little easier on the night. but if you camp in blue valley, red or orange you gotta expect a noisey night, because if it ant the neighbours keeping you awake the fairground and dj stage and tents definitly will :P

Been to the last couple, have had 'local' tickets to both years. The people in the villages surrounding the festival get offered tickets at a cut down price which also gets you into a segregated bar, so no queuing and some nice benches etc to sit at, plus it's right next to the back stage area. It also has some nice proper toilets, not just portaloos! So if you know anyone who lives in Bramham, Thorner etc then see if you can get their tickets.

(should also say, i havent bothered camping there, it's far nicer to just get a taxi home and get comfy in my own bed! Too many V-Fests in the cold wet weather put me off!)

A bed does sound nice, but then you would be missing out on one of the major points of 2+ day festivals - camping

However i did meet a guy at Global Gathering a few years ago on the sunday who was in his 50s and had not been to sleep for the past 3 nights. All he took with him was a backpack with a sandwich a few energy bars and other forms of energy. Then just stayed up all the time. He said he liked sleep deprivation because he could talk to people who were imaginary! He was pretty hardcore

Yeah me and the girlfriend are on about going to either this or Oxygen. Leeds will work out cheaper and is a lot closer, but waiting on the line up to be announced. Will be my first festival but she's been about 4 times. So should be good anyway :) .

Waiting for the announcement, last year was the first year since 02 we didnt go and I really, really missed it. Desperately hoping for a good lineup this year, also got the use of my parents camper van, fridge, cooker, flat screen telly and a toilet ill be able to use without fighting back the urge to vomit :D.

Guest your into your dance music? Why not try Global Gathering or Creamfields? Music till 6am and you can make the noise you want. Plus of course, far far far far far far better music ;).

Ive lived in Leeds for 8 years and ive never been to Leeds fest. Plus around 15 of my mates are going this year

Been to love leeds, global, creamfields, summer sound system etc they were all great but its good to mix things up now and again :)

Well, queued up tonight at crash records for 2 hours in the rain and got 2 weekend vouchers. :)

People were outside HMV today at 12 with tents. They dont go on sale there until 7am tomorrow. Why, when they could have gone to crash?
