It looks like the ATI offers more for the money than Nvidea, which would people choose from these regardless of price?

HD5670 is only around the speed of 9500~9600GT...even HD4770 and 9800GT are fair bit faster than it. And the dx11 on the 5670 is pretty much just decoration, unless you are gaming at below 1280x1024 res (frame rate will take a deep dive in dx11 mode). It looks like the ATI offers more for the money than Nvidea, which would people choose from these regardless of price?
Well, HD5670 may be faster than 9800GT in the Anno 1404, but in actual gaming it is actually slower at both 1280x1024 and 1650x1050, tested in Fallout 3, Crysis, STALKER Clear Sky, Dawn of War II, Call of Duty: World at War.
Not really a good comparison... its got the GTS250 and even ATI4850/4830 matching or beating the GTX260 in many situations... where I know the GTX260 completely crushes them. Infact their GTX260 numbers are rather suspect across the board.
The only one that looks anything like correct: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/Radeon_HD_5670_IceQ/15.html
I dunno why the OP is looking at either card tho, neither seem to fit the catagory hes looking for.
The GTX260 beats the 5670.
The 5770 is more in the ballpark.
