This car has the efficient dynamics engine which is a definate requirement if I'm going to get a 3 series BMW

Price is £15.5K and is at a car supermarket, not main dealer.

To part ex I have a pretty average condition 51 plate Mondeo 1.8LX with 91K on the clock and 12 months MOT.

Any advice on how low I could expect to haggle this down to?

Will it help if we pretend the car above is a Saab and I've spent about 10 pages worth of posts umming and aahing over it? ;)

Not a lot I would have thought. How are you paying? Lump sum, or taking their finance?

Taking their finance will probably make them more likely to accept an offer, but will probably be a worse deal in the long run.

Also, is there a specific reason ED is a requirement?

Why? ...ED is ruddy annoying and just daft in my opinion.

I doubt you will have much haggle room from a car supermarket anyway.

If it's a car supermarket then I doubt you'll be able to knock anything off, in fact aren't there adidtional admin charges that they put on top of the price if you decide to go for it?

It will be lump sum. Assuming then that they wouldn't budge much I guess what I'm really asking is how much can I expect to get for my heap? I was thinking about a grand. As regards ED, I suppose if given the choice between an 07/57 non ED and a 57 ED most people would choose the 57 ED just because it is that tiny bit "better". And since with my budget I'm looking at the 07/57 period for this type of car I guess I'd prefer the best in that range.
