iPhone 3GS Cases: Long-term results

I have the CaseMate ID case, carries two cards inside the back in a fiery red. It's good but not a long term case for me, in fact if anyone wants it for a tenner email me! :p I actually fance the Incase Slider in white now, although £25 I've seen so far seems expensive?

iPhone 3GS 32gb White

Currently using the white Water Cube from www.ultra-case.com (USA) - about £15 delivered

Previously had the ice blue version for 8-12 months and it was beautiful, better than the white I reckon. Its colour started turning mucky so I thought I'd try the white one.

It never went floppy or loose or randomly came off. Very durable, has kept the back of my iPhone clear as new, not a single scratch for almost a year. Hair and other dust gets trapped sometimes but it's easy enough to take off and clean every couple of week.

Currently using a Switcheasy CapsuleRebel M as my daily case and an Otterbox Defender when I need a bit more protection, like snowboarding or biking. Extremely happy with both cases, currently keeping the phone in mint condition through a variety of environments and experiences. Would thoroughly recommend either case. If anyone wants more info on either, just let me know.

Also, just got my full refund through for the Incase Slider I returned. Happy days.

Wait wait wait, how much was/is the Incase Slider, I want the white one with Apple's universal dock!

Having said that I have no idea what the dock costs neither!

I apparently paid £24.95, thats what they refunded me at least.

Personally I'd avoid it at all costs, it scratched my phone and the finish came off it after only 2 months of use. Wouldnt use one even if it was free.

Well I've just had my 3G replaced due to cracks and I thought I'd keep this one as shiny as possible.

I got an Incase snap case and it's rubbish so it's going straight back.

I put an invisible shield on the front to protect the glass and I think I'm going to get a Crumpler 'Le Royale for iPhone' in Off White/Green as it's sexy.

I've found the screen on the 3GS to be strong and unscratcable :/ I haven't had a screen protector for months and it's still crystal clean.

Caseless and proud

Same here. With a touchscreen phone all the majority of cases do is protect the back - who really cares about that? Before iPhones no one used to worry if the back of their phone got scratched.

I've had no problems with the glass getting even slightly damaged.

I really, really dont see why people buy an attractive phone then make it look ugly with a case just so it doesn't get the odd scratch etc. The case is uglier than the odd scratch imo.

You can get ultra thin cases which you can hardly notice, plus it can retain a sell on value - iPhones can go for a fair whack second hand.

i dont think there is any case out there that will 100% kep the bezel as new, as when dust gets in it will scratch.

only other option is something like a Invisible shield or a zagg to cover the whole thing up
