Just installed TOCA 3 that I bought in the Steam games sales at Christmas.

Well what can I say, it's totally awesome! I only bought it because me and a friend (Blackvault) used to play the TOCA 2 demo solidly for months, with only one or two cars and tracks and it was brilliant, but I never bought the games since.

Just got it fired up and got my PS3 controller working properly with it, took a clio round brands hatch short track in 41.34 on my third lap without setting it up and upgrading etc. Put the graphics and sound up high and my goodness what a fun racing game.

I own Grid on the PC, Forza 1 (xbox) and 3 (360), GT5 prologue and NASCAR and I must say that whilst most of those have better graphics and probably are more realistic (can't say for sure because I've never driven a Ferrari round Silverstone irl) I really am enjoying TOCA!

So for anyone who has played it back in the day (remembering that it's only 4 years old) then join this thread in TOCA 3 loving times!

That is all

A very Happy iamdjdz :D

its a good game but when we tried playing over the internet(cannot remember how we connected) it was damn laggy....one minute a car was behind you then it would warp infront of you, yup they had starship enterprise technology in the game.

still is a very good game though.

Lol haven't tried online yet, maybe will arrange something to see the warp tech! Loving the handling of the cars, they just about do what you want in the rally stages!

Yes, online was laggy but the handling model wasn't bad at all. Certainly better than the more recent offerings from codemasters in my opinion.

Hmmm yes it was a good game and after seeing this thread i am seriously thinking about reinstalling.
One possible problem... I think the retail version has Starforce protection. (Hope i am wrong) Anyone know if Starforce works ok on Windows 7 X64 ?

Still got the first Toca, boxed an all. T3 was a pita online as said. I remember winning one race by a clear er mile and doing a victory dance around my room. The scoreboard then pops up to show that I was 2nd. So I went to the replay and was like FFFFFFUUUUUUUU as there was clearly another car visible there! :o

Toca 2, that brings back memories! I used to avidly play Toca 1 on the PSX with just a controller with a d-pad and no sticks; wet races were frustrating and near impossible, but it was fun!

I have Race driver 2 boxed, but can't find race driver 3 for some reason. I might look into how much it is on steam, I'd definitely get back into it if there were enough people playing here.

TOCA 3 was he first racing game i played online...it was great especially the trucks, i still have it in my steam account as i bought it a while ago to re live old memories...had a bit of trouble setting up the G25 for it though but its still a decent game.

I am a big fan of the TOCA series, played 1 and 2 a LOT. Often played with a friend on dial-up modems too and LAN.

Personally, I disliked the Race Driver series ALTHOUGH I played RD3 and it renwed my faith in the series.................. then they released GRID :(

Online for me as allways been fine, no noticeable lag.

Maybe an update fixed some issues?

I used to play Toca 1 with 3 mates on 4 player split screen all on keyboard. Hours of fun.

One limitation/feature was that if you press and hold a few keys at once then keys will lock. This was especially fun when one of us was winning and you hold down some keys on the last corner at the right time, causing them to veer off and crash! then you overtake and win! :D

I tried 3 but it wasnt the same unfortunately. I might have to buy it on steam if its cheap
