On O2 simplicity you can get some good deals for Smartphones.
If you're willing to sign up for 12 months you can get:

£15
300 Minutes
Unlimited Text
Unlimited Internet

Now this would be perfect for a potential new smark phone purchase.
However for me, only Vodafone can give me a goodish signal at home.

Vodafone on their SIM only deals offer different:

£15
600 Minutes
Unlimted Texts
1GB Internet

Once upon a time a carrier would be so desperate to keep a customer they usually offered to match tariffs from others.
Is that still the case?
Are Vodafone linkely to match the O2 deal or will I simply be told "Have your PAC code then".

To be honest, I suspect that unlimited doesn't mean much (if any) more than 1GB after 'fair usage' policy has been applied, so their deal may well be better...

This is true. I'm sure tucked away in the O2 terms and conditions it states that they will slow you down/cut you off if you use it excessively.

Personally I think I'd struggle to use 1GB a month on my phone! So go for the Vodafone deal :) .

Thanks guys.
Never having owned a Smart Phone before I wasn't sure how much useage I could get for 1GB.
Sounds like it will be plenty.

That's good for Vodafone, their 'Unlimited Internet' offers are only 500mb I think. Same with O2, thought it was only T Mobile who did 1gb

In fact, Vodafone were forced to change their wording recently because they admitted that their 'unlimited' data was actually 500mb.

The guy from Vodafone told me that the reason they used unlimited was because most people would never get anywhere near 500mb a month anyway.

I think most of the 'unlimited' offers are 500mb, except for T-mobile who offer 1gb / month.

The only time i went over my 1gb limit with T-mobile was when i had no internet for a month and tethered my laptop to it so i could browse the net (shh, not meant to do that). It still took a couple weeks before it went over. I can't remember if they cut me off from 3g for the rest of the month or just limited it somehow - wasn't too bad anyhow. I've never gone over from just general smart phone usage.

£15 tariff(600 mins/unlimited texts) £8.75 p.m after Quidco £75 cashback.
£20 tariff(600 mins/unlimited texts/1GB internet+webmail) £11.66 p.m after Quidco £100 cashback.
£25 tariff(900 mins/unlimited texts/1GB internet+webmail) £11.66 p.m after Quidco £160 cashback.

It's a web co-operative cashback site, there's a few of them around now. It's great, usually a few % back on all that tat like games, dvds, blu-rays you buy online plus the good rates are usually from services like insurance or mobile phone contracts. I got £28 for my car insurance last year and £60 for British Gas, probably had £250 back from last year, not bad for stuff you would end up paying anyway usually.

As for the networks, doubt they have got any room for discounting on those 30 day sims I bet they are unlikely to budge. Bit different if you spending £30 - £40 a month and say you want to move, they'll usually do something for you.

Just got £30 cash back on a £15pm 30 day sim on Orange via quidco. Just got to keep the sim active for 2 months in order to receive the cash back.
