I've just installed an HD 5870 to go with my 5970 and i'm not really getting any better performance, I've tried 10.1, 10.2 and the 10.3a drivers.

With the 10.3s i'm getting even worse performance in Dirt2.

I have the crossfire bridge connected and all the power leads are connected too. Both cards are working as they are both hot to the touch after gaming. Crossfire is enabled via CCC.

3D mark 06 gets a 600 point gain! I can't try vantage as I don't have a key.

Dir2 benchmark reports that I have a rough score of 95 fps! I think another forum member was getting 140! I have gained a bit more fps in BFBC2 but not much to be honest.

Am I missing something?

Specs

i7 @ 4.0
Asus P6TD deluxe mobo
Asus HD 5970
Asus HD 5870
Corsair HX 850W PSU
6GB Corsair ram

Thanks.

Send me the 5870 you selfish git!

Lol.
that's what I was going to say :P

seriously though, unless you're running really high res (or crysis @ 16xAA) 3 cards isn't going to show much improvement if any, you're probably CPU limited in a few games already with a 5970 :D although I would expect a bigger gain in vantage... xfire definitely working across all 3 gpus?

How can I tell if all 3 are working?

i've got the same setup, but with sapphire cards. apparently they were supposed to be fixing crossfireX on eyefinity with the latest drivers, but all i get is massively flickering screens :(

I'm pretty sure it's been fixed for while. Just down to the games.

well i've tried it with dirt2, l4d2, l4d1, crysis, hl2, plant vs zombies (yeah, i know), killing floor, supcom 1 & 2, MW2

same results everytime...

the only thing i haven't tried, and really don't want to do is reinstall windows...

I've re-installed win 7 with the 10.2 cats and I've gained about 40 fps in BFBC2!

One thing though I've got a stupid Crossfire technology logo in the top right hand of the screen (in game) does anybody know how to get rid of it?.

It wasn't there before.

Try pushing your i7 a bit higher, will prob be a cpu bottleneck. Also run higher res/AA settings if you can.

TBH your prob limited by games, they not progressing quick enough.

Right click on the ATI logo in the taskbar icons, choose a card and highlight crossfire settings, disable crossfire logo.;)

Right click on the ati icon in taskbar then move your cursor over the first card listed, then click crossfire settings, then untick (click) the show crossfire logo..

:)
