Industrial strength techno

some industrial strength from 1993. :D

unfortunately, techno doesn't seem to have progressed very much in the intervening years. :(

just to clarify for those that don't know, "industrial strength" is a record label. now go and check the tube of you and you'll see your recommendations for jeff mills and surgeon probably aren't what the OP is looking for. :)

I see. :)

They have quite a good website: http://www.industrialstrengthrecords.com/index.html with clips of each track. I can't say it's my cup of tea (where's the dynamics?) but often I just end up buying the released I like the sound of.

You may find a few others on this forum who can give some recommendations, but I wouldn't get your hopes up... I can't see your typical Muse fan thinking much of this sort of music. ;)

Variety is a good thing, I listen to everything, from Rise against, NOFX, No use for a name, Lagwagon - Coldplay, Florence and the Machine, Mumford - Queens of the stoneage, iron maiden, RATM, Slipknot, Deftones - trance, rnb, hip hop but at the moment its all about the hardcore :D

Tinrib is a hard house dj/producer isnt he?

Bit of both - more HH now but back in the day (1998) he used to drop some brilliant stomping techno. Hard House always was a bastardisation of techno anyway - just with hoovers and nitwits with glow sticks.

See if you can find the Dave Clarke essential mix from 16th jan 2000. Best techno set ever.

The problem is hes not looking for techno in its pure form, industrial techno is the old name for Harcore/UK Gabber/Darkcore/Frenchcore in all the new forms

See I read it as industrial strength techno - as in stompy stuff rather than strictly hardcore gabberish stuff... you know as opposed to the likes of Future Sound of London, Orbital, the Orb etc...

Something like this utterly brilliant piece of music:
