*** Steam Weekend: Aliens vs Predators £16.74 ***

Yes, when it wain its week of release, it was number 1 in the sales charts for PC, XBox360 and PS3 - only in the UK though. In the US it didn't fare quite as well.
It has been selling very well. I lovedbthe marine campaign too - though I would have liked it to be longer. But then, the aliens and predator games gave some extra playtime, and most shooters these days have very little single player, so it's worth it for me.
I can't comment on the multiplay, as I don't do that.

not sure how it compares to the PS3 version but i loved it - complated the Aliens Campaign in about 8-9 hours on Hard mode, the extreme mode was crazy hard! will give the other stories ago soon :)

I have this on the Xbox and i REALLY enjoy it!

If you don't like/or have any interest in Aliens/Predator then steer clear of this title but if you like the whole Aliens/Predator universe then it's a lot of fun! I feel immersed into the world and it can be very fun!

Marine - The whole atmosphere of the marine campaign is awesome. I sound effects really add to the tense atmosphere and i like it. Just made me want to watch the Alien Quadrilogy front to back!

Predator - Really fun! Being invisible and jumping about environments sneaky up and tricking unsuspecting marines is great!

Alien - Not the strongest of campaigns but still fun nevertheless. I found it gave me massive motion sickness, which i never suffer from.

If you can immerse yourself in the world and enjoy Aliens/Predator movies then it's great. If you're super critical and can't get past the greatness of A* FPS titles then don't buy it.

I love the films and AvP 2, but I'm not sure about this game.

- most people seem to reckon it's not very good, or outright rubbish
- 16GB disc space, while I do have the space to spare, it makes me fear it must be badly optimised or something. Batman Arkham which I recently bought uses half that and apparently this game is only short, so how does that work?
- short single player campaign? I am only interested in the marine SP, not the other SP or the MP. £17 for that sounds excessive, especially when it is bound to be cheaper in the near future, if not on Steam then in other stores.

No offence but the films are garbage, exacly the same as the game.
Its an insult to the original Alien films.

If you like a 1 button MP experience then go ahead.
And if you like an extremely short story, bad story, bad graphics, very linear gameplay and an even longer list go ahead!

Easily one of the worst game i've ever played.
I want my money back..

When I say I like the films, I actually mean Alien and Aliens :)

Playing AvP2 was like a video game version of the movie Aliens or at least that's how I saw it (when you played as the marine).

oh joy! its now 5p cheaper than the retail pre-orders were!

Seriously though, everyone I know who has this has said what a massive disappointment it is. Save your money :D

Bought at retail for £17.99 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Just got to finish the Alien campaign now then I'm done.

It's been a total bargain in my honest opinion, I have no idea what all these 'it's too short' comments are about. All 3 campaigns will have taken me past the 10 hour mark, which is longer than MW2 lasted. And the game cost me half the amount I paid to go have a night at the cinema to watch some generic 'seen it all before' drivel.

I don't understand everyone's negative opinions. People expect too much these days.

Some mixed opinions on this one! I think I will leave it. For me personally it looks like one of those games that if I made myself sit down and play it, I would probably enjoy it or if it was the only game I had, but there would always be something else I would prefer to play.

I would say hang on until the Thanksgiving sale in November - it will come up for something like £3.50 with the DLC maps included.
