Yeah I had a Valver years ago, was a great car, currently have a Ph2 172, another awesome fun little motor.

Thought you bought an EVO Chris? DC5 would be lovely mind you, just £7500 short at the moment :D

Regarding the Type R engines. There are several people on the DC5 forum who are well over 100k now with no reported problems what so ever, apparently they get better and better till they hit about 20k miles then stay the same till past 200k... just have to make sure you always keep an eye on the oil level as they do use a bit but as long as i was sure the previous owners(s) have been enthusiasts I'd have no problems buying a high mileage example

Oh and if we're shamelessly pimping our teg's here's mine...

xez or sipha, any idea of the differences between clio 1.8 16vers and williams, performance wise, also does the williams have any improvements elsewhere that a 1.8 doesnt?

The 1.8 only starts going at about 4.5k, the williams the torque is much lower. The 1.8 revs to 7.1k as standard and the Williams 6.5k. Williams handles better due to it's wider track. These can all be swapped and used on both cars.

Performance wise barely anything in it but the feel is completely different.

Mine has been awful... It's mainly wear and tear parts though. The engines are quite strong but they do get thrashed :P In the time I've had mine I've had 3x1.8 engines, 2x2.0 litre engines, two gearboxes (weak point) + clutch, all new suspension, new ARB and drop link bushes, several ECU's, repaired loom, wishbone with bushes, new radiator, 3 alternators, 2 lambda sensors, head gaskets etc etc

A long list, yes I should have gotten rid but it's been reliable as of late for a good few months :D I still love the car though, great fun and sounds amazing. I just can't part with it. Make sure you have a good tool set ;)
