Hello

Has anyone driven a automatic passat b5.5 ? What did you think ?

Im only going to buy the PD130 version, but I think I want an auto the more I think about it.

The supreme benefits in traffic and when I am tired.

I dont really race around anymore and just cruise.

I currently own a PD130 b5.5 manual 5 speed, so only the gearbox will be different.

Ive also seen some nice C Class Merc's for the same price range £5k, but servicing and running costs are a lot higher.

Thanks

I'M JUST GUESSING HERE BUT... I imagine it will be somewhat similar to your existing car except... wait for it... you don't have to change gear manually.

Really ? I never knew that.

I was more interested, as an example, if the autoboxes are snatchy, jerky, etc.

The only auto car I have ever been in is a Merc S320 CDI (a taxi) and that was so sublime.

OK, my thread got called the most pointless car change ever - could I appeal that decision please?

How many new car threads are you going to start?

It's OK, he's definately going to buy an Autovouge 335i M Sport or a brand new Range Rover Sport because the Business he runs at Uni pays for it.

Anyone who doubts this is just a hater.

This was 2.5 years ago though so I'd be chasing the lease company for a delivery date tbh.

Thats a yes then - thats the 94-00 model. A B5.5 Passat was 2002-2005, so hardly comparable at all.
Still a B5 though isn't it? A couple of years difference wouldn't bother me. I was merely pointing out that £5k goes much further than a boring oil burner. Besides, twoblacklines is fairly skimpy on the details as usual, so there's not really much to compare against.

I'd say it's quite comparable seeing as the B5.5 is very similar to the B5..
