I'm off up to Stafford tomorrow, my Sister bought me an experience day thingie at Christmas where I get to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo , and the Driveme centre is located just outside Stafford.

Anyway it's at 2pm so would like something else to do other than driving a really fast car for all of 5 minutes. The reviews of the place look worrying to say the least, but seeing as I didn't pay for it I'm going along

So any nice towns, villages, attractions? Somewhere nice to get lunch etc.?

Erm Stafford is a nice town but that's about all it is really. The Wetherspoons there is quite nice, it's an old cinema. The floor drops down in a few stages and the bar is the screen. That is right down the high-street, way past where the bigger shops are. There's a few game shops that might be worth a look if it's your thing. there's one just up the alley by McDonalds and 1 or 2 at other end of the high street near the roundabout.

Hello, I'm from Stafford!

Wetherspoons/The Picture House do really nice lunches - a very nice atmosphere! I would suggest heading there for lunch. Other pubs to check out would be The Yard (around the corner from Wetherspoons) or Apres (on the main high-street).

The Guild Hall has a bunch of shops and the main high-street is packed full of them. All the usuals like Next, Burtons, Game, etc. There's an old sweet shop on the left of McDonalds (up a small ally way) called 'Mr. Simms Sweet Shop' (I think, been a while since I've been up there) and I would check that out - it's pretty cool :)

We have a Ten Pin bowling ally and Cinema in the town also if you fancy something like that.

There's some nice villages near by if you wanted to take a look.
Haughton, Gnosal, Eccleshall, Woodseaves, Lilleshall... all 10-30 minute radius of Stafford. They are really nice in the summer but don't expect anything to fancy this time of year. We've had rain today and expecting rain for the next week.

The castle would kill an hour or so. The Bankhouse pub/bar serves delicious food, its in the center. If its still there - last visited 2 years ago.

I went to Uni there.

No there is nothing to do other than leave or Alton Towers.
