The Official Football Manager 2010 Thread

wigan are fealing a little light headed in this second season, sitting 4th in the league after 13 matches, they've never been so high.

got a run of tough fuxtures so if im still there in a month i will be happy, next matches are tottenham away, manu at home, villa at home, newcastle at home then chelea away. in the middle of that ive got athletic and fc sochaux-montbe in the euro cup.
 
Decided to start a season with Cardiff.


Here are my transfers. Baxter, Ramsey and Lafferty on season long loans, Merida is on 3 months.

First game of the season lost 4-5 to S****horpe. They got a pen on 89 mins when it was 4-4. Keeper is shocking, and all their goals were basically through balls horrible defending! Should have had a penalty though. :(
 
something has changed, ive been offered the job at wolfsburg and cardozo has finaly accepted my praise :p

think it means im doing well :p

Just finished my first season with Juve. Won the treble and it's the first time I've managed to go unbeaten in the league with any team :)

We're in May 2018, look at both Inter and AC having shocking seasons!



edit: Just noticed I've not actually had the Champions League final yet - hope I've not tempted fate too badly...

just finished my second season as wigan. was sitting in 5th till about game 27 when we just went crap, didnt win a game in 13 games. managed to end the season in a high with a 2 - 0 win over villa atleast.

got to the last 16 of euro cup to get knocked out to Ac milan.
knocked out of the fa cup at 5th round by villa which i wernt to happy about
won community sield at start of season.

rodallega had a his best season scoring 22 goals in 45 apps.
lancia traore also had a good debut season scoring 9 in 25.

ched evans has been a bit of a disapointment scoring only 1 goal so far.


rodallega wants to move to a bigger club or wants 60k wages a week to stay, so he is going, so im in search of a target man to replace him.

**just realised i have the perfect target man in traore :p shall look for someone to partner him instead.

what stats should i be looking at for someone to go with a target man?

capedevila is a temporary solution to my LB position, have been trying to get mattock or insua but so far everton wat 60 mill and insua doesnt want to move yet. gave up on gareth bale he wont come.
 
Get Dodo for the left back position...:) He's a great talent and should do good for this season swapping between him and Capedevila, then next season he'll be ready to play there non stop. :D

I'm just about to start a new season as Birmingham, make them into a top 4 team hopefully over the next couple of seasons. Can not be bothered with my Cardiff season it's annoying me. Ambitiously told the board I could get Euro qualification, do have a transfer budget of £32m though. :)
 
Franco Zuculini has being a certain buy for me since FM 08.

Fantastic player, shame I can't get Pablo Piatti to come to Wednesday these days :p

the season before I got offered 15 mill for him but I couldn't get Cardozo so had to keep him, they wouldn't give me any more.

I will check out them left backs though, ty :)

I will post my first team when I get home to my pc to see what can be improved.
 
Hi all. I've just started a new season with the latest update with Arsenal (fancied a higher rep. team this time round) I have £25m to spend and I'm looking to strengthen through the middle - DC, MC and ST. Any ideas?

how i play them:

cardozo - target man-attack
traore - complete forward-attack
buonanotte - advanced playmaker-attack
di maria - central midfielder-attack
mccarthy - ball winning midfielder-defend

whats the best way to play cardozo? hes played 3 league games so far and not scored.
 
I've found starting from the 09/10 season has recently become boring for me. Now have a saved game at the start of the 2011/2012 season meaning everythings a bit more random. Nice little game changer if I do say so myself :).

Well he's an awesome AML, but you don't play wingers, lol. He scores and assists for me at AML. Got 10 goals and 13 assists in his first season for me there. I guess if you want MC, could look at Defour?

Although if you wanna keep the formation, maybe try him as Advanced Playmaker? Pretty sure his stats suit that, and it's a more attacking role for him.
