Aftermarket Cruise Control

Something akin to that.

Although it could be anywhere, I don't even know what car that picture is.

Although, it is clearly a toyota before anyone starts.. well.. the engine :p

It probably will have, and I can't think of any aftermarket cruise control systems i've ever heard of for cables.

it would have to be mechanical, and I wouldn't like that. at all.

The car is currently with Toyota anyway having the AC treatment done, so I will ask them tomorrow when I pop in to collect it.

I thought I would ask here first, because I didn't want to sound stupid tomorrow :p

Being an ex toyota option fitter I can say it can be done, but would cost so much its madness.

Not just the kit(if still avalible) but the fitting time aswell.

Surely many Toyotas have built in cruise now anyway? Okay, it's fairly rudimentary, and because the accelerator peddle jams, but still... :D

cruise control is possible for both, electronic and cable driven, throttle systems.

cost is in the region of £450-500 fitted

I wouldnt want an aftermarket cruise system to be honest, retrofitting OE kit would be fine, but as per a post above it sounds a bit too much hassle. On some cars (A lot of VWs for instance) it's just a case of replacing the stalk on the steering column.

If you're spending enough time on motorways to make cruise that important, you're probably better off with a more suitable car anyway :)
