Basically I want to work in social care so it's a job I'd like.
Screw the door to door job. I detest these people with a passion.
'could be earning thousands' is very different from 'will be earning thousands'.
I would do the job you enjoy.

I'll clarify sorry, it's basically working with social services, I'd be administrating and communicating with various social services like youth clubs and care companies.[TW]Fox;16193738 said:Surely you cant just randomly pick a job as a social worker with no experience or qualifications or anything in the field?
I know it sounds that way but I was basically confused, I was open to the possibility of doing it for a while and moving on if people thought it would be a good idea to get money early and then keep trying to get the other job. I agree it was a bit dumb but like I said I was confused.Hey guys! I have two job choices ones a job which will ruin all my social life and i wont be able to see my girlfriend but i will have loads of money to spend.... on errrm well i wont need anything as i will always be at work! A Job i really want to do.

Do you think your boss would discuss with you how the company is holding up? You may not want to jump if your comfortable and secure but you'd have to ask to see if it's secure. I think the worst of the recession is over now too so probably not much chance of harsh layoffs now.I am in a (kind of similar) position, I work for a frozen food distribution company, they are relatively small, but the pay is ok for round here (£450-550 per week depending on shift) but I went to an interview yesterday with one of the largest food companies in Europe who offered to pay for my HGV training and give me a job which although the basic is pretty crummy (£17,500) the commission isnt and it could depending on my sales performance (its a direct catering supply role servicing long term contracts and ad hoc calls) net me over £40k a year.
I'm not so much looking at my problem from a money side of things, I can live quite happily on £17,500 a year, I'm thinking that the bigger company which does turn massive profits every year even now, and has operations worldwide, is a much more secure prospect given the state of the economy.
