Did a fresh install of Windows 7 today, and I installed 10.3 ati drivers and restarted the computer. However, windows as in; firefox etc seems choppy and feels like I ain't got the graphics drivers installed. This happened with 9.12's etc. Any help?

I tend to always , uninstall old drivers , run driver sweeper (delete all ati files option) , reboot, install new ones and never had an issue doing it that way.

Thing is tho mate, I have done a fresh install on windows 7 so no left over ati drivers are on the drive. Windows on firefox etc like I said feel choppy, and minimizing looks like the same. It looks to be like the computer doesn't have ati drivers installed.

ive had that issue before once, said the drivers installed and there was no way the system was optimised with new drivers.. some people install 10.2 and then just 10.3a over them! remember 10.3a is a beta driver etc.

ah yeah sorry, but doesnt win7 auto install drivers aswell.... did u use windows update mate ?

No I didn't, I just went on here, got the link for the new 10.3 drivers and installed them. When I have done fresh installs of windows (I do a fresh install like every 4 months), it felt the same on 9.11's, 9.12s etc...

i would take off 10.3s, run driver sweeper on the ati files, then install 10.2 and see how the system feels then .

Thankyou mate :) I'm just downloading Dirt 2 atm via steam so when its completed, I will uninstall and use driver sweeper, can i ask you, whats the key to hit when in boot up to enter safe mood in windows, is it F8?

yeah its f8!

Never needed to go into safe mode with sweeper, it auto cleans out , reboots , then u can run it again when it comes back to desktop and remove if (the last 3 files) then just install your new drivers.

Should I then uninstall the 10.3's, then install the 10.2's and then overwrite with 10.3s?

yup if you have problems with a direct install. Make sure you have the latest version of direct x and C++ as well installed from microsoft as both are required for the latest drivers to work properly and the version shipped with W7 is out of date
