Are hard to come by, but can be worth their weight in gold.
Im back in the UK for 2.5 weeks holiday and dont own a car here anymore. I was in the process of sorting out a hire car when I friend of mine rings me just for a catch up and to arrange meeting up. The (cut down) conversation went like this:
Him: "What are you up to?"
Me: "Shopping around for a hire car, its not cheap, well over £300 for a Fiesta sized car".
Him: "Well, why dont you borrow one of mine"
Me: "Errrrrrrr.....really?"
Him: "Yeah sure, but Id prefer if you took the M3 instead of the Lotus Carlton, I'll drive that as its a bit temperamental".
Me: "Blimey, theres an offer I cant refuse".
So Ive got an E46 M3 for couple of weeks for the price of a small insurance admin fee and a few pints
Bit of a pointless thread but Im still over the moon with his generosity. Anyone else ever had their friends help them out in these sorts of situations?
