Is there such a thing?

I know I can always drive across to Wales for some decent roads but its a bit of a mission. I know of a couple of half decent roads around Bridgenorth and Ironbridge in Shropshire, but thats the extent of my knowledge.

Plenty of midlands folk on here who like a spirited drive - where do you go? I realise its likely to be slim pickings locally owing to traffic...but must be somewhere closer than Wales :)

Pretty much all the back roads from the A50 near Burton-on-Trent up past the back of Alton Towers, Leek, into Macclesfield. Then you can come back via the A537 (Cat & Fiddle), into Buxton, and then back into Derbyshire.

Good few hours of fun there.

I agree with the Scotland comments, but yeah a good 318 (to be exact) miles for me home!

Around Alton Towers area is really good, obviously a bit away from there tho as can be very busy during season.
