or was that just me ? :o

I only needed the first half but fair enough :D Nice area ;)

PE6 = Insurance "group" A, it doesn't get much better than that.

£3,200 my arse :D

Tesco would want £1420 for me on that registration plate, if I were 17 years old with my mum on the policy.

And I live in a 7a area.

Up the excess - don't crash - and consider TPFT is you're buying such a cheap car. Although it appears the price difference between the two these days is quite low.

What other cars are you considering?

If you find something that combined with your age doesn't make the insurers she pound signs, you might be better off. Clio? Civic? Colt? All from around the 98-2002 era can be had under 2k.

Well, for a start why bother with FC on a cheap car like that. Do TPFT, add an older experienced driver with a clean history and try again.

Urgh if you use another mainstream insurer to get a quote I will quite litterally reach my hand through your monitor and throttle you.

Stop finding typical cars that 17 year olds crash and pick up the TELEPHONE and phone SPECIALLIST insurers, you know the ones that specialise in young drivers, not companies dedicated to giving cheap prices to people with experience.

Companies like Churchill and Aviva wanted £4000 from me when I first passed, I paid £1400 by getting on the phone and playing brokers off against each other. To put it simply, you're doing it wrong.

For some odd reason.. Whenever I try to get a quote from Tesco.. all I get is..

We have detected 1 error which needs to be rectified before progressing.

Hmm..

Probably because it is yet another mainstream insurer who isn't competitive for people in your circumstances.

Yes but you live near loads of...tourists. ;)

My first car, cost me £700 after Pass Plus with Norwich Union (now Aviva).

It'd have been £1400 without the pass plus. Most other places wanted like £2k.
