XFX ATI Radeon HD 5970 Black Edition 2048MB GDDR5

gargh...

sorry sorry mate my bad. I had to add loads of funny marks on it due to colouring in MW2. Whats yours mate? I'll add you!

Any updates on your card btw buddy?

Sam

Dont forget to post some clocks, Iam not inpressed with mine. It will not evan get close to the clocks they claim...... Mine does 900/1250 24/7 930/1295 for a bench but it will not play games for long at them speeds.

Its not at the min (ordered) I understand that the max clocks can only be reached with water,but this pig cant evan get to 1300 for 2 seconds. You would think it would just for a min before it over heated.

5870 is a single card, it's no wonder that clocks higher.

1000/1500 sounds totally unrealistic to me outside of water cooling and probably volt-modding too, and even then I'd be surprised if it was 24/7 stable. I think you're expectations are kinda ridiculous to be honest.

Think yourself lucky. If i touch the clocks i get weird, weird goings on, downclock, overclock, whatever, even by 5mhz i get strange activity :\

Mine was the same you need to make a profile and mod the CFG file.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/281111-15-overdrive-underclocks

I set mine to
<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="40000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="60000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="87500" />
</Feature>
<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="125000" />
</Feature>

Not looking for 1000/1500,Will be happy with 1000/1250.I have the sub0 cooler already running so should get close.

Interesting.

Thank you mate.

I see,

That xml sets your 2d clocks (want_0) to:

400mhz core
1000mhz mem?

and your 3d clocks (want_2) to:

875 mhz core
1250 mhz mem?

Am i right? If so.. What's the want_1 values?

Yep.
Set yours the same as mine or just set 775 and 1150 if you dont want to over volt.

Set it to:

<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="40000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="55000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="77500" />
</Feature>
<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="115000" />
</Feature>

Assuming because it's a dual gpu card, the second lot of xml refers to the second gpu:

<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_1">
<Property name="Want_0" value="40000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="55000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="77500" />
</Feature>
<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_1">
<Property name="Want_0" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="100000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="115000" />
</Feature>

Interesting, and dont see why ATI haven't fixed this yet.
