Hey guys and girls,

My girlfriend is in need of a new laptop for about £300-400, and I've been left in charge of finding her one. She'll be using it for word processing, surfing the web, watching videos etc, so nothing high end is needed.

Dell have an Inspiron with some pretty good specs for £399, but I wondered if anyone had any experiences or opinions with Dell?

The important specs are:

15 inch screen,
i3 330m CPU,
3GB DDR3 ram,
250GB HDD,
whatever Intel GMA comes with the i3 330m,
Windows 7 Home x64
etc etc.

Thanks for any help.

i bought a laptop yesterday with the i3 330m, really good chip my first impressions are.
Can multitask with several apps running at the same time, very good chip imo.

i thought long and hard about buying a dell, even ordered then cancelled it,
was bothered about the much reported overheating issue
and the fact that dell couldnt fix it!!!

I got a dell and the dam mouse pad is screwed, sometimes it works and sometimes it dont wana move lol

Got my sister one of these as she needed a laptop, seems quite nice. Recommened her a Dell because it was cheap and my XPS M1530 was running well. After it arrived my XPS M1530 died. 18months of use, their support was shoddy too, will stay away from them from now on.

I believe the 15inch screen doesn't come with a built in webcam, only the 17inch, if that's important to her (for skyping her other bfs :p).

Haha :D I'll keep that in mind. But thanks for the tip. She doesn't use skype or webcam so it should be okay.

And to everyone else, thanks for the input :)
