***Official OCUK Deadlift Challenge***

OP sorted & awaiting results :)

If my crippling DOMS have gone by Tuesday I might give give this a go at either 1 x BW or 1.5 x BW. I will do the 2 x BW over easter. I have to travel home on Thursday and then have 2 workshops (core & kettlebell - which includes squats & deadlifts!) at the weekend so don't want to waste my own money any not be able to take part!)

So do we need video footage as confirmation?

I think it was mentioned, not sure if it's a requirement.

Think we'll put a foot down and say:

Video Footage Required

There everyone should see that :)

Ideally a reasonable quality video. None of these ancient Nokia's with about 8 pixels :p and 2 frames per minute.

I'm a bit concerned about this actually, 1.5BW is quite a bit more than I routinely lift.

I weigh about 90kg @ 6'3, and usually manage 3x8 @ 80kg. Does 135kg sound do-able for more than one rep?:p

I'll be trying it tomorrow, either way.

Isnt that effectively a good way to try put your back out, trying to shift way more than you're used to/ can possibly do?

I wont be doing deadlifts I think for the next 6 months (no olympic bars) although I think I could maybe manage a 1 rep max of 1.5x bodyweight (~83kg)

I was doing arms at home today, so beforehand I thought I'd give the 1xBW a go (currently at 81kg). I can only do the higher weight when I'm at school. Managed 23 althought I know I can do much better, I do have the video although it's like 110MB - Any idea on how to compress it?

I'll treat it as a 1 rep max, as I've never tested my max before. I certainly won't be trying to rep it if I can't maintain form.

edit: didn't realise a 1xBW column had been added. I'll be in there then...:o

Stick to what you know lads we don't want anyone injuring themselves :)

Nor would you want video evidence of it on the internet :p

neon theres loads of video convertors you can use, just search for your recorded file name + convertor and stuff will turn up.

23 reps is pretty good going.

i might have a go at 1.5x tomorrow if my legs recover from the antics yesterday. 2x will be hard. weighed myself last night at 90kg

Gave my 1xBW set a go earlier on:

Weight : 90kg
Bar Weight : 20kg bar + 70kg plates
Reps Achieved : 17

I know I can definitely improve upon that next time. I'll try for 20 on Wednesday.

Awesome stuff!

Really wish my DOMS weren't so bad as I'd love to have a bash at this in the Uni gym before I go home. Hmmm I'm undecided on what train out of chest or back tomorrow. We'll have to see.

One things for sure I'm going to go at the BW lift like an absolute NUT JOB!

Congrats p4radox you're winning :D for now :p

Nice one P4radox!

I must say though, you don't look like you weigh 90Kg, you must be a tall bugger!

I'd say at 90Kg I'd look like a mini tank since I'm only barely 5 foot 9 inches :)
