Hi all. Just need your wonderfully valued opinions for my survey :D. See LINK. It's for a research project that I'm doing and I need some technical people to respond as it'll present a more accurate representation of whats really happen (so.. i believe)

Feel free to put the link in your sigs for today if you really want to help :p no pressure though.. and a big THANKS to all those of you who spare the minute (thats all it'll take, its not as long as most surveys).

Also... if you want to discuss the topic here.. go right ahead, thats what the threads for!

Thank you all. What phone does everyone currently have anyway? BlackBerry 9700. I suspect from the above gaming remark im going to get a lot of entertainment-centric users here. iPhones and HTC devices are my predictions...

I'm doing a study on the technological drivers.. and I've identified young users as the main generators of uptake. I'm looking at it from a technological perspective (so im ignoring the fact that the recession meant 15% VAT and thus more people might have bought smartphones... or environmental factors such as having a more green phone etc). Not looking at political, economical, environmental or legal.. focusing on technological developments (ubiquitous internet and the like), and some aspects of social forces that become part of the mix when you look at some elements of tech. FUN times eh? :p

I did fill it in by the way :)

Mostly used as a media device, web access, video, music, camera etc. (Samsung Omnia HD but considering a change).

By the way if theres any obvious ways I could improve my survey do let me know. I used closed-questions as it'll (theooretically) be easier to quantify the results later.. like tomorrow... :( ... when i have to do the analysis. Left it a lil late this year.

Raikiri - any idea what you'll be changing it to? (and why.)

I mostly use mine as an alarm clock. :p

I have a skypephone S1. It's a sleek looking device, has a reasonable games catalogue (although these are mostly 2D JavaME games - actually being a bit of a nerd the fact that it supports programming through JavaME was a bonus as that let me program for it extremely easily, actually gamecanvas is probably by far the easiest to use 2D API I've ever used ), it was relatively cheap (I think mine was about £20), and it also has some basic internet browsing functionality (although I certainly wouldn't want to try and post on a forum using it...).

Have you looked at business users?

$%&!. Omg. Don't do this to me now... it's due in one week. OMG...

WhY dIDn'T i ThInk Of tHaT!

Edit: Actually it's not that bad. My argument is the 16-24 aged market is the primary reeason for growth in the smartphone device market. Balls... i still think im missing a big chunk of the pie now...
