*** Final Fantasy XIII ***

Picked up the Growth Egg yesterday (gives double CP). 80k per Adamantortoise kill now.

Also, as yet I have not used a single "Resistance" based accessory to defeat an enemy. Death was not a problem with the final boss as I had high HP.

Next item I am after is the Genji Gloves, that let you break the 9999 damage barrier (Only really useful in staggers, I think).

According to the guide, catalogs affect the party as a whole, and do not stack so you should only ever need 3 ( 1 of each type - normal loot/collector, rare loot/connoisseur and shrouds/survivalist )

Huge thanks. I only had the Shroud and Rare loot items equipped. I didn't even have the Collector item equipped (which reading the description increases the chances of a drop). Now I am getting items dropped much more frequently (be it common or rare drops).

Where you snag that Growth Egg from?

Mission 55, it is in an area opened up by a Chocobo. (I think it is in the North East area). The enemy (Ochu?) is really tough. I had to spam him with the Death spell and got lucky.

Sadly the same enemy is one of the people in the Titan trials (which lead to the Genji Gloves), so I will have to try to spam him with death again.

Ah, will have to wait for that then, just doing the last Chapter, will have to go do some Cie'th hunting afterwards ^_^

I'm typing this from my phone at work, so can't actually look for the answer myself, so please excuse if this is a stupid question....

Just started chapter 11, done a couple of missions, but think I'be missed one (think I went from 6 to 8). is there somewhere that keeps track of what ceith stone missions have been done and which haven't???

yep the game keeps track hit square to bring up the map then hit square again and it shows a list of what missions you have :)

Not sure why people are finding the final boss so difficult tbh, i've only farmed for less than 20 mins in total and my weapons weren't even upgraded from their first 'form'. Ended up staggering him, used army of one to get him up to 999% damage bonus, switched to aggression and wiped him out in a matter of seconds. Iirc the battle ended up lasting about 2 mins.

If anything it was too easy tbh.

yeh i found the final boss to be pretty much a joke.

You mean 99,999. :p

5 digit damage has certainly become the norm when it comes to this game.

Yeah, although apart from in staggers I rarely manage to hit the 99,999 limit. Bahmut seems to exceed this limit (maybe the other Edilions do as well?).

When I use him to hit a Admantortoise hit does approx 450k damage.

I only used them once or twice in the main game. I think that Bahmut (Fang's one) seems to have got stronger as he was doing closer to 300k damage (earlier), so maybe his strength increased as hers did?

Depends which boss you mean, I mean the first form of the final boss, i.e the one with the two (or 3 technically) faces that does the massive attack with it's stone pillar thing and casts death. Not the one after that that is immune to everything until you break it.

Death was literally the only problem I had with it.

It's a good thing that Cherub's Crown is 45% maximum and Seraph's Crown is 60% maximum for Death resistances when they are upgraded. You'll have no problem with Death ever again if you have these.

Only time I really use an Eidolon is when I'm in panic mode and my team is near death. Such as I had Lightning, Hope and Snow.. Hope was dead and Light/Snow were in the red, so I used Odin, did some damage, he left and team comes back fully restored and revived.

Busy wandering around the plains area of Chapter 11 doing some missions. Walked into one of those giant walking things, which was a bad move as it stopped it feet once and my whole team went to about 5% health :p Needless to see I died shortly after! Finding some packs of monsters really tough in the whole area, can barely get 5 stars on any.

What's people team setup just out of curiousity? Has anyone bothered starting a new role for one of their characters? I checked them out but noticed they have an crazy amount of CP requirement even at the starter section of the crystwotsit.

Yeah, that's how I won, I just find it a bit of a dick move that they pretty much force you to use them.

Apparently Versus XIII has absolutely NOTHING to do with XIII.

Just wondered where you'd heard that its nothing to do with it, as I've not really seen many versus details, not for lack of trying! They just dont exist.

I'm not saying it could be a storyline sequel or anything, Just set in the same world(a prequel in a sense). I was thinking along the lines of FF7, During play the world is futuristic and mechanical. At the end of the game when you finish it, You see Red looking over a grass overgrown Midgar. I'm thinking its a possibility for FF13vs. Technological advanced past(vs) with Pulse in FF13 being the results of an aged world

I have a scary feeling I may have flogged mine to fund some weapon upgrades as never once in a FF game ever have I used something for 'anti-death' as it's so rare...

Oh bum... :o
