Hi guys,

My other half is after earbud headphones with good bass. I've looked at the 'Monster Dr Dre's Beats: Tours' I've read nice things on this. Looked on the bay and they can be had for £35? Are these 'fakes'? Or are there no such things and I'm being silly. Some are for £75 so I don't know?

Thanks.

ps. If anyone has any better recommendations please feel free to tell!

Cant really go wrong with the Creative Fatality headset, £100+ sound quality for £20-£30.

Erm - did you even read the first post?

Anyway - not one I've heard but look stonking value at the moment. Sennheiser IE6. £40 in HMV or so I've heard.

Edit: Unless those beats are from a seller with a very good reputation, I'd say fake.

I also take exception to this comment. I know because I have a set! They're certainly not £100+ sound quality, but pretty good gaming phones for the money.

However, the OP is after earbud style headphones. I haven't had a set of those in years so I can't help, sorry. Had to post though.

I got myself some Klipsch Image S4 headphones for about £60 a while back and I can't fault them for their price, I mainly use them on the bus and the difference in sound quality compared to my old Sony headphones is amazing.

The noise isolation works very well blocking out most background noise with music playing, you can't really hear voices over the music even at a modest volume, the bus is a dull roar at best, when I take them out at the end of my trip I am always amazed at how loud the bus actually is.

This only helps the sound quality which I have to say is crisp and clear considering its coming from mp3s on my phone, the bass is very strong, if a little excessive for my taste but overall very good in noisy conditions and only gets better if you're in a quiet room.

The earbuds themselves fit very snugly and are very comfortable in fact you can hardly feel them after a while.

Build quality is decent, the wire is a little thin but shows no sign of wear so far, the earbuds themselves are plastic, but feel solid enough and are very light.

Also the wire ends in a 3.5mm jack which is something that was a high priority for me as that's the only size I would use and didn't really want adapters. I couldn't really find this on many other headphones in this price range.

As to how they compare to the Monster Dr Dre's Beats I have no idea but i'd definitely recommend these Klipsch Image S4s.

The other headphones I was looking at were the Shures and they seemed quite nice but lost out due to higher price and needing an adapter.

Oh you wanted in ear .... Razer Moray are the only ones I know of :(

I have compared my Creative Fatalitys with a pair of £40 sennheisers, and the Creative ones were like 10 times better :x

Just like this review says:

So if it was up to me, I think next time I’ll reach for the headset and skip the beating. For $49 the headphones are a steal. I spent $80 on my Sennheisers (a year ago, the price may be comparable now) and the Fatal1ty headset seems to have blown them out of the water.

But £100 are probably better I suppose.

Noise cancelling ear plugs may be a good bet for better sound and bass. These ones for example:

From 1 of the reviews:
Review Summary: They didn't sound as precise as some high-end headphones in the group, but we enjoyed listening to music with them, and the heavy bass didn't detract from our enjoyment. They have excellent audio quality for the price, and win a Budget Buy award.

£25 from Argos.
