Anyone drive an Audi tt?

Ignore the hairdresser crap, hairdressers drive Corsas not 225bhp turbocharged Coupes.

Good cars - built well, timeless looks, classy and elegant. Quite expensive to run, getting on a bit now and have running costs which you'd associated with a 225bhp performance Coupe. It isnt a cute girls runabout - or at least, it isnt supposed to be.

They tend to grip rather than handle and have pretty lifeless steering but they are quick enough and look great.

Quoted for effect :D I've just helped my sister to buy one of the V6 ones..

My dad drives one. It's still a good looking car and manages to still look modern after what... 10 years?

He's had his mapped to i think 260bhp? I haven't personally driven it properly but he enjoys it, and it seems like a nice place to be inside.

If you put jelly in it you can make a 1 tonne wobbly car shaped jelly......i think.

Been drinking this evening? :D You crazy.

I'm surprised any man on here would own up to having one, unless it was the almost acceptable newer shape that looks a lot less gay. Still a bit gay though.

For a supposedly fun car that looks the same from the back as it does at the front, audi do a good job of making it look boring, in my opinion anyway.

It may well be a decent enough car underneath, though most people couldn't care less about that stuff, hence its reputation as a girls/homosexuals car.

I tend to judge a car on what its like as a car, how it looks.. as a car. I cant be bothered with all this rubbish about whether a bunch of shallow minded simple folk think you have sex with men purely based on what car you drive, just makes no sense to me.

I drive a MGF and I don't have sex with men

or do I?

Wow, okay grandad. :p

I don't care what other people think of my car, but I'd be disappointed with myself if I owned one. Shame on me.

I'll keep my pink Figaro thanks.

I had a Mk1 51 plate 225bhp model as a company car for the final 6 months of a 3 year lease.

Unreliable heap of crap. The previous driver had had the coil packs replaced twice under warranty, the instrument cluster replaced twice (and the fuel gauge still didn't work).

In my time owning it, I had some pulley relating to VVT fall off (an hour after I'd been into an Audi stealership to complain about the odd noise, only to be told it wasnt important) resulting in a new cylinder head under warranty, oh and the crank angle sensor fail too.

I wouldn't own one without a warranty after that.

It is, of course, entirely possible that I just had a lemon.

To drive it seemed good (it was my first "performance" car) but only until I drove something better, namely a Scooby. Now with more experience of different 4WD systems I realise that the FWD biassed system that Audi use in this car is the least desirable 4WD setup.
