for crossfire i7 930 overclocked performance. Whats best?

Also using a 6gb/s SSD and Standard HDD.

Crossfire 5870's wondering whats the best layout of PCI slots for air flow.

id go gigabyte - generally easier and better overclockers imo.
i always find asus make some silly design decision as well on many of their boards.

I was all good and ready to buy the Asus but have read that the USB 3.0 / Sata 6Gbs borrows from the PCI-E lanes. does that mean i won't be able to run Sli/Crossfire (haven't decided on GFX cards yet) at 16x, 16x?

Has anyone got a setup which utilises 2 graphics cards and the Sata 3 connector?

Slot layout is more or less the same - no free PCI slots with two GFX cards installed, and a 1x Slot at the top for a PCI-E soundcard.

Id choose the Asus because its cheaper and looks better to me. Or actually, I'd go for the UD5 version. The difference between that one and these two is very small.

you can, that sort of bandwidth does cause an issue on the lower end 6gb/s boards.

X58 boards have enough PCIe lanes to not have problems, P55 boards have issues, but the Asus ones tend to use a bridge chip to add more PCIe lanes.
