While rehearsing the role of Orin in 'Little Shop of Horrors' I had to act like I was high on Nitrous Oxide and I fell off a chair dislocating my shoulder...

...20 minutes I was high on the real thing as well as morphine on the way to hospital!

All aboard the failboat!

Stringy making a thready is also ironic.
I see what you did there :)

2nd time in 3 years too, consultant's stance on surgery me thinks will veer towards a strong recommendation rather than optional like it was before! 2 weeks in a sling now, 6 after whenever surgery is - yay!....not.

Not ironic, just unfortunate, however, if were trying your best not to fall off said chair, and dislocate your shoulder and you were concentrating so hard on that you stepped on another chair that, due to your concentration of not falling off, you didn't realise that the chair was broken.

So you step on to the broken chair which cracks under your weight, you leg gets trapped in the broken mess, you fall and dislocate your shoulder.

To put it simply, you fell off a chair and hurt yourself via a different method trying your best not to fall off a chair and hurt yourself, that you've missed something you would have otherwise saw and hurt yourself anyway.

Now THAT'S ironic.

Well done. Someone who actually understands. :)

Stringy, sorry about your bad fortune.

Definition of irony: my mate who was afraid to fly on aircraft had a business deal in California. He forced the company to pay for train tickets to get him there. This was the result:
